"My Son Is My Hero" Video -- Celebrating 1 Year

As you know, I recently made a song about my son entitled "My Son Is My Hero." The song is a lyrical journey through the first year of my son's life. Now, I accompany the song with the visual aspect of his life, using pictures taken throughout this year. This is something that I hold special to me. I hope you enjoy it, respect.

I Am The Ink On Paper (Dedicated To Poetry)

My poetry is an expression of endless emotions
Life can take you high, but can crash like waves in the ocean
Compare my words to your feelings call it lyrical motion
Look close and you can see one man's devotion
Poets are not made we are born to spread reality
Observation of my thoughts is a view of my mentality
Words flow like water from one line to the next
Flaws of society hide within the context
Great ideas also come from this poetic atmosphere
I'm here as a visionary to make your visions more clear
When you witness my pen float smooth across a page
Observe a man with a message of knowledge beyond his age
The words are the ingredients my life is the flavor
Life lessons learned I Am The Ink On Paper
And as I quickly progress through different situations
I encounter the good and bad of God's creations
So I use poetry and view it as a language of my own
Scripture settles in your mind like words embedded in stone
My pen and paper are two things the world can never take away
And as I always say the past is the past and I'm living for today
I inhale and exhale this language called poetry
In this life and after death poetry is me

"Love & Pain" Mixtape

"Love & Pain" is a lyrical presentation of the past few years of my life. From my life in New York leading up to my enlistment into the Navy. Eventually reaching the point of where I'm at now. From track 1 to 14 it's like opening the book to my life and sharing my vision from chapter to chapter. The songs represent the good & bad within not only my life, but with many others lives. When I write and compose songs I always aim to take the audience on a journey. Like you're right there standing with me seeing everything I'm talking about. "Love & Pain" showcases my versatility on the mic, and the true passion that escapes with each breath. I want people to grab onto each word and picture what I'm saying in their mind. I promise this project will affect you, and you will have it on repeat. "With God & Family I've Made It Through, Now Focus & let Me Share My Life With You."

My son just started his first phase of walking, so here he is outside pushing his cart. Good Times.

Consider Me... Me

Well I'm not a "professional" at this blogging stuff, but I'm definitely not new to writing. I've always held back on starting my own blog, but I can't find a reason why. Maybe it's been a time issue; actually I think that's it. I'm a stay at home Father, and I've been taking care of my son Omari since 2 months old. He was born prematurely and spent 70 days in the NICU at Balboa Hospital. It was my duty as a Father to stay home and take care of him personally for the first couple years of his life. Everyday I'm fulfilling my obligation to take care of him the best I can. I'm a recording artist so I have to juggle that aspect of my life along with taking care of him. But, no excuses coming from me because I enjoy doing both on a daily basis. Many Father's don't get the opportunity to do what I do everyday. Sure, it's a challenge at times but it's something I take deep pride in doing. Coming out of the Navy after serving my years it's a breath of fresh air for me to wake up everyday and be able to take care of my whole family. My wife is still in the Navy, so she arises daily to serve her country. We met while sailing the seas of the Persian Gulf. I remember the first time I saw her, and I was staring at her *laughs*... but that's another story. Basically, it's been a long journey getting to the point I am at now. It's been rough, sad, happy, adventurous, but I won't change a thing. I have my family and all the love possible surrounding me in my life. Music is a great part of why I'm breathing, and it's my goal to spread it throughout the world. I hope many people can join me in my travels as I plan to inspire the world through my music. If you don't know me I hope you take the time to learn my story. I won't ever let anyone change my lifestyle because it has done me justice through the years. Consider me... me.
